Poached pears are so simple and delicious and this purple blueberry twist is perfect!
This recipe is for two people and takes 15 minutes to make.
1 firm pear – or 2 if you feel like it
½ cup blueberries – frozen or fresh
¼ cup water
1 teaspoon honey (optional)
3 cardamon pods
2 star anise
Place the water, honey (if you wish), cardamon and star anise into a small saucepan with the lid on and bring to the boil. Leave to simmer for 5 minutes.
While the water is infusing, peel the pear and cut into quarters. Remove the stalk and seeds.
Place the pears into the water and simmer gently for 5 minutes till just soft. Turn off the heat.
Add the blueberries and pop the lid back on for a few minutes until the blueberries are heated through.
Serve with love and a warm heart.
