Spicy Fish Salad

spicy-fishMy amazing friend Candida lives in California and comes up with some cracking recipes … here’s one she shared with me that needs to be shared with you all!

Here’s a recipe for your blog that I’ve been enjoying of late and felt to share. Super easy to make for breakfast, brunch, lunch or a balmy evening supper. Have a lovely day. with love, Candida x

Spicy fish salad

A piece of white fish, I keep frozen Tilapia in the freezer
A large handful of Arugula (rocket)
Dried chilli flakes
Flaked coconut chips or desiccated coconut
Furikake (black and white sesame seeds and seaweed flakes)
2/3 ripe figs if you can find (I’ve made this without as well)
Lemon juice and olive oil

Pan fry the fish in a skillet with a little lemon juice and some red chilli flakes until cooked through, some of it will become crispy.

Wash the arugula and dry it before placing in a salad bowl.

Mix in the warm fish.

Chop in the figs.

In the fish pan gentle heat the dried coconut flakes till they start to brown.

Mix in with the salad and fish, add a healthy sprinkling of Furikake (alternatively you could use black sesame seeds and seaweed flakes) and squeeze in some lemon juice and olive oil.

Give it a gentle toss and serve with love.
